There are many types of mobile devices that designed for a different applications. Mobile devices can be divided into mobile computers, Digital Still Cameras (DSC), Digital Video Cameras (DVC) or digital camcorders, feature phones, pagers, Personal Navigation Devices (PND), and smart cards.
Mobile computing is human-computer interaction where the computer allows data, voice and video transmission. For example, laptops, mobile internet devices, wearable computers, tablets or smartphones and digital media player.
Digital Still Cameras (DSC) or digital camera is a camera that captures images in digital memory. Most of the cameras released today are digital, and while there are still special digital cameras, many are now put in the device from mobile devices to vehicles. However, high-definition cameras are still commonly used by professionals.
Digital Video Camera (DVC) or video camera is a camera used for the acquisition of an electronic motion picture that was originally developed for the television industry but is now commonly used in other applications.
Feature phone is a term commonly used as a retronym to describe the class of mobile phones. Feature phone tend to use proprietary, customizable and user-friendly software, and lack of smartphone capabilities. It's have a back LCD screen and a micro USB port and may have a physical keyboard, microphone, SD card slot, rear-facing camera for video capture and shooting, and GPS. Some feature phones include basic app stores that include basic software such as mobile games, calendars and calculator programs.
A pagers is wireless telecommunication devices that receive and display alphanumeric or voice messages. One-way creators can only receive messages, while both the pager response and the two-way pagers can also acknowledge, reply, and the original message using an internal transmitter.
Smart cards is credit card-sized card with embedded integrated circuit. Smart cards are usually made of plastic. Many smart cards include metal contact patterns to connect electricity to internal chips. Smart cards can provide personal identification, authentication, data storage, and application processing. Applications include identification, finance, cell phone (SIM), public transit, computer security, school, and health care.
